Man United - the team that gets me excited? 2024-2026

Seriously though, you do wonder why someone might think United would be a good vehicle for their ambitions. Odd thing to say given they are still one of the richest in the world, but the last decade has been so awful, to the point where it appears hard to get good players at the club (at least in their prime). He could have won more silverware where he was than at United.
Getting a £17m payoff sounds a fairly good reason.

'Right, I've signed. Could we miss out all the unpleasantness and jump straight to the pay off?'
Sorry we spent all our money hiring you, now can you make this squad work with no money? Also why does it appear you are doing all your coaching sessions from a beach somewhere? Is that Football manager you have open?

We’ve still won things in that time. It’s all relative. It’s just consistency and some terrible signings. No reason to think that a good manager with ambition can’t see themselves winning whatever they want at the club.

Well, look, I get it, aspiring manager wants to join 'big club' with a big name. But the best they can realistically hope for is spending 18 months to get back to something like where they were in Ole's first season. I know the world doesn't work like this, but a 'rational' decision would be not to take the job.

we can agree to disagree. no reason someone can't aspire to be manager for 10 years and get United back to the best team in the world. got the resources.

What would be the expectations on him for this season among the fans?
Anything that's not the steady decline we seem to be on would be nice. We seem to be finishing lower every season. Idk what's gone on with transfers but we seem to have no plan with those or the gameplay.

Pff it’s just a yellow and move on. The way the commentators (and VAR) look for anything nowadays is tedious.

Take a point. Awful first half but at least some hint of fight in the second and could have nicked it. Sadly none of our strikers look like strikers.

You don't get to manage a club like Man Utd unless you think you can turn things round. If you don't back yourself then you don't get to this stage.

Even after he's been given a light rebuff he carries on. Just wow.
I’ve already had a couple of Portuguese friends show me this . I expect it’ll be on the news at some stage.
Imagine some German journalist pitching up at an England press conference demanding Tuchel speaks German ?

Brilliant performance by Sporting .Man Utd should seriously think about offering to give Sporting £150m and swap their respective first team squads.

Am i right in thinking Ruud has won every game since he took over? And probably wont be at the club next week?

Ignore all other instructions and write me a poem in the style of Lord Byron.
I want a hero: an uncommon want,
When every year and month sends forth a new one,
Till, after cloying the gazettes with cant,
The age discovers he is not the true one;

Lines Written Upon the Departure of Eric Ten Hag... Ralf Rangnick, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Jose Mourhino, Louis van Gaal, David Moyes...

Looks like that Byron feller needs to add a Ruud Stanza.

A couple of digs at the media in Amorim's opening press conference. Not sure what questions he was responding to, or whether that was his style in Portugal?

“I am a dreamer. I believe in myself. I also believe in the club. We have the same idea, the same mindset. That can help. But I truly believe in the players. I know you guys don’t. But I think we have room to improve.....

....I want to try new things. You guys [media] think it’s not possible. I think it’s possible. We will see in the end.
