Lunch should have its own thread

Celeriac soup and seeded toast. Accidentally chewed on my tongue stud and chipped a molar

Used to happen to me too (the chewing, not the chipping). Eventually the dentists browbeat me into taking the piercing out. Now my previously flawless canines are chipped from their dodgy handiwork. Figures ;)

My lunch has been a source of annoyance for me, I need some inspiration.

Lunch yesterday was an Edam and ham sarnie but by the time I got to it at lunchtime it tasted rank and was inedible. Something happened after I made it that morning and it spent half a day waiting in the fridge. The ham tasted really bad.

Today was a peanut butter sarnie with a golden delicious apple and yogurt, better in that it was edible but not inspiring.

I am going to read back the thread in search for inspiration.

I only have half an hour for lunch but I need much better lunches.

:(

Dixy chicken chicken burger meal. I'm getting dangerously into these. Unlike the chicken the burgers are cooked fresh and it's better value then even McDonald's.

I need to get someone to try these jarred salads to compare notes...
Some of them are quite "clean" - this one has a bit too much salt, sugar and even saccharin !
I'm at the mercy of what the local "Polish" shop has in stock.

I still reckon on balance it's a fairly healthy option ...
This combo ends up being a bit like hummus...

Not quite as ridiculously cheap as they once were - I think around £1.50

Leftover fresh turmeric and spinach dhal, with nigella/mustard/cumin seeds in, fenugreek and cayenne. Sooooo tasty.

Bit of red cabbage sauerkraut for the belly.

2 apricots and a nectarine.

Recreational salad ...
I don't need the calories, but it punctuates a day when I'm struggling to do the things I should be doing and is an excuse for a little wine ...
Apparently I need to be eating 30 kinds of plant so this adds several to my usual selection - including a grated courgette from the garden, plus alfalfa and broccoli sprouts from the windowsill ...

Sprout salad :-

Mung, fenugreek, alfalfa, broccoli, romaine, milled flaxseed, balsamic dressing, tahini.
An excuse for a midday sit-down and small glass of malbec.
