Lunch should have its own thread

They smell absolutely amazing too eh story ? Obviously, very mushroomy, but there's also a delicate sort of lilac (the colour) scent to them too, if you know what I mean. There's a very subtle perfumey smell to them.

I know exactly what you mean! but I never thought of lilac as a way to describe the smell. But I’m struggling for one that works for me.

There were five more globes at the same spot today. I covered one with leaves in the hope it’ll grow bigger and took the others. I’m really hoping at least one gets to spore stage but because the location is near a busy footpath and because of general mycophobia I expect any I leave will be trampled or vandalised or otherwise destroyed.

I offered to share my bounty with a Latvian person of my acquaintance (cos non-natives are much less mycophobic) and they declined, but asked where the spot is. I told them I’d give them the mushrooms but not give up the location… They laughed and said it’s the same back home.

I‘ve eaten too much too.

Croissant stuffed with bresaola puffball mushrooms goats cheese cherry tomatoes, with cornichon pickles in the side, and I used the breville sandwich maker as a panini squasher. It was so good I had a second one, but that was too much.

Gnocchetti in a sort of stew with mushrooms, celeriac mush and sherry. That sherry is indestructible, months on the living room windowsill and it still hasn't turned to vinegar. Maybe it never will?

Leftover stuffing, gravy and mint sauce.
Hot chocolate.

Strange mix and I feel a bit nauseous but I may still be hungover (day 2).
Mr Looby got me to sniff the tequila this morning before he put it away and it was not a welcome smell. 😩

Pork, sausage and black bean stew from the freezer. Some pearl barley on the side.

I'm quite liking these type of meals (and the cost saving bringing it in). Should fire up the slow cooker for another huge batch on Sunday.

2 Chicken drumsticks, 3 chicken thigh skins and some peanuts. SO making two batches of curry and we had some extra meat out to cook. Frozen chicken parts have become a huge part of meals now due to the price for 2KG at tesco. Thighs for longer cooks and drumsticks for snacking/hot protein accompaniment.
