Got leftover noodle soup, but really fancy a big fat wedge of homebaked wholemeal toast, with proper butter and crunchy dark-roasted peanut butter, so I'm gonna go home for lunch and have that. Might have a decaff coffee, and a banana too.

Some courgette and garlic with pasta cooked in this stuff. It's tastier than it sounds for something with a name like chicken powder. Probably all that msg.

Had fish and chips by the seaside (well... not proper seaside, Leigh-On-Sea where we’re planning on moving to), absolutely lovely fish with a cpl of fine bottles of wine.

There’s a few variations of it but essentially it’s duck stock , shredded duck , garlic , herbs and rice . Most put chouriço in it on the top of the rice , some put duck fat or butter into the rice and sometimes a beaten egg into the top of the rice and it’s cooked in the oven . This one had it little hint of piri piri in it as well .

A very nice lunch at Rockfish in Exmouth overlooking the estuary. Paid for by a mate who drove down from Berkshire to see me for lunch. Feel very privileged to have such a good mate.

Calamari, scallops in garlic breadcrumbs and tempura prawns for starter - shared.

Roasted Brill with garlic butter, a few chips.

That’ll do me for the day now.

Lunch today, fish finger sandwich with HP sauce. Damn supermarkets keep shrinking their fish fingers though, flipping shrinkflation Four FFs in a row used to fill a sandwich, now there’s a big gap top and bottom where the sneaky bastards keep making their fishy fingers a few mm shorter each year.
