We used to have roast lamb's hearts for Sunday roast a lot when I was a kid - cheapo roast innit?

Homemade wholemeal toast, buttered, with beanz and cheez and hot sauce.

An invented beany-lentily curry with rice tarted up with coriander, chillis, cumin and lime juice with a hefty splodge of really hot lime pickle. Sweating and runny nosed, now.
Was delicious.
Just as well, seeing as there is a hefty great pan of it.

I love hearts too. I prefer to slow cook them, as it makes them very tender.

Hearts and kidneys and livers are all lovely. And haggis and black pudding.
I really want to try sweetbreads but I have never seen them on a menu and I bet even if I did, I'd talk myself out of ordering them because if I was in a place that did them, it would have to be a swanky expensive place, so if I ordered them and didn't like them I'd be sad and annoyed and hungry and skint.

I’m doing a fresh prawn starter, prob just garlic parsley butter and white wine.

Then fresh UK Halibut with a cheese bechamel sauce and sauté spuds and spinach.

Then bread and butter pudding and custard.

Chablis to drink.

I haven't had sweetbreads (thymus) in a very long time. They are very nice though.

My housemate was cooking chicken hearts and offered me a few - they're very nice! So many people get put off by them, but they don't really taste any different to any other part of the chicken...
