My sandwich for today...

Hovis medium sliced granary bread
About 6 Sainsbury's Taste the difference pastrami slices
Bread liberally covered in gourmet burger kitchen chilli mayo
A healthy handful of shaved parmigiano reggiano cheese

Skipped the iceberg lettuce, as it wouldn't stay crispy until lunch.

I never fully realised the awesome significance of "lunch" until l lived in Spain. No-one in London would say, "Have a nice lunch" as you slink off with your sandwiches for a dismal 30 minutes. Here, lunch has its own rush hour and lasts up to 2 and a half hours.

Also, there are 5 mealtimes in Spain: desayuno (breakfast), almuerzo (11-ish snack, because lunch is later), merienda ("teatime") and cena (dinner). Each of these has a verb, so you don't "eat" breakfast, you "desayunas".

Main point, though: the word for "lunch", "comida" is the same word for "food"!

Corner shop bargain lunch

Egg salad sandwich, a packet of BBQ sauce potato snax and a can of Barr lemonade.

I made myself a great lunch yesterday, out of the random odds and ends in the fridge: salad leaves, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, roast squash, chargrilled artichokes from a jar, pine nuts, olive oil and lemon juice. It was so good!

Had an onion bhaji kebab and chips in the canteen today as I am full of lurgy.

Falafel, potato and chickpea dahl, Moroccan sweet potato, salad, hummus and a boiled egg. Orange juice.

I've also got a Toffee Crisp in my desk drawer which I might (definitely) eat later.

Ha, we have a token rough sleeper but I haven't seen him for a while. He's a bit of a lech too, so I think I'll just pop them in the freezer

Pizza al limone

That might be edible if it just lemon and dough. It was the lemony cheese that overpowered the flavour in the Coop monstrosity.

I've done some further research and it also has provolone cheese. I daresay however edible the original the coop would have fucked it up though.
