Lunch should have its own thread

YUM! I had a large help yourself salad from Sainsburys. It was worth the massive, round the shop queue :)

Spaghetti with tomato sauce from a jar. I overcooked the pasta so it's a bit like eating supernoodles with ketchup

I had a homemade potato salad that my housemate made last night. I was wary of it because all the potatoes were sprouting heavily, but he cut all those bits out and it was really, really good.

We must have a lunch thread! Lunch is my main meal of the day. I always miss out completely on the tea thread, I don't eat tea. :(

So anyway :D today I had a really colourful salad, freshly made by me this morning. Lettuce, spring onions, tomatoes, carrots, long red pepper, cucumber, sweetcorn and roasted garlic. In roast garlic mayo. Eaten with freshly (shell-as-you-go) shelled prawns dipped in taramasalata.

This is why my desk is so messy.

*cleans grease off phone*

I finally stopped dithering about which dish to make for dinner, by making one of the possibilities for my lunch!

So a fish pie...haddock/king prawns/calamari/scallops/mussels/petit pois in a thick white sauce (which may have had a drop of double cream added to it too...just cos it needs using up :p  ) with a rosti potato and cheddar topping.

Very fuckin nice it was too, but I reckon I've used up my entire fat quota for the day :D so it looks like I'm going to have to have a boring veg in oyster sauce stir fry for dinner to compensate. :(

I'm up for a lunch thread - always good to get ideas.

I had wensleydale, ham, and onion marmalade on seeded bread, followed by homemade made choc orange cake. Twas very nice. :)

That's my kind of lunch. :D

Do you do deliveries?

i ate some shitty swedish meatball with pasta thingy i got out of the vending machine. I had to micro it for 2 minutes.

it'll sustain life but that's about it :D

I'm not eating meals at the moment but speading my food throughout the day as it helps my pregnancy sickness. so far I've had:

greek yoghurt with red berries and a sprinkling of granola
red pepper houmous on rice cakes
chicken and veg soup
2 x crunchie bars (very bad mid afternoon craving)
bottle of orange and raspberry juice
2 x pears

Homemade curried butternut squash soup with a bagel filled with grilled chicken dressed with yogurt and mango chutney. My lunch was made of 100% WIN today :)

i had a pret day today. Chicken sandwich with some kind of yoghurt and sundried tomatoe dressing and greenery. And a youghurt with berries.
And an apple. And a bit of chocolate. And 2 oatcakes
I was bloody hungry today!!

I slept in so didn't have time to make a packed lunch. :( I am going out on the lash tonight so need maximum soakage. So I went to Subway, and had a footlong chicken pizziola. Now I want to sleep. Subway sucks.

if I have to buy lunch where I work the best option to me is subway

hence making an effort at the moment of bringing in my own

Overcooked, tepid and oversauced linguini with tomatos, prawn and, allegedly, garlic. Rubbish from the staff canteen.

I had no breakfast, so lunch was a strawberry, blueberry and banana lassi, with a tbsp of sunflower seeds chucked into it for health! :D

today we got lunch from the Chinese buffet place near work.

As much as you can stuff in a plastic tub for £3:50. It's a challenge and a work of art, using primary chicken ballast, mangetout and babycorn side fillers, and curry sauce to fill in any miniscule gaps at the end.

Can't move now. :(

Still, I don't make a habit of it, and it is damn tasty.
