Lunch should have its own thread

I made a batch of lamb slow-cooked with juniper berries and cranberries in a red wine sauce, which I'm going to try tomorrow.

Leftover spicy chicken breast from tea the other night. I was going to have it in a wrap with salad but there was a reduced pack of firecracker chicken with rice and veg when I went into Waitrose so had it with that instead.

I had a christmas sandwich a festive falafel from Boots on dark wholemeal bread & red cabbage slaw. Looked good but I didn't enjoy the taste very much and left half of one!

My small son and I are in a total lunch rut: I have wholemeal toast with homemade chipotle sauce, avocado, pumpkin seeds and sometimes coriander, and he has a PB sandwich with grapes and blueberries. I don't think either of us can imagine anything more delicious tbh.

600g baked King Edwards -584 kcals
pot of low fat hummus - 480kcals
370g bag of crunchy salad - 85 kcals - "6 servings" but only "one of my 5 a day" ?
1150kcals
Weekends are definitely not fast days ...

My current maintenance calories are about 3273 - less 500 for not cycling = 2773.
Tea had better be on the light side ...

Ah well in that case I definitely am having over 20 a day :)

Those antibiotics did me no favours.
I may have to take active steps to repopulate my insides ... beyond the live soy yoghurt ...
Off to be ultra-sounded on Friday.

Meanwhile I broke another tooth on a date stone. :(

What I am definitely not having for lunch is the tin of sardines I have just found at the back of the cupboard with a BBE of Dec 2006 :D

"Chicken!" I hear you all cry.
Thing is I hate tinned sardines so I've no idea how they got there in the first place.

(actually that is a lie - I distinctly remember buying them thinking "I should eat tinned fish" and then promptly ignoring them for 9 years)

Well I was having some instant noodles but they have gone bad. Who knew that noodles could even go bad?! The smell is absolutely foul
Dried instant noodles?! Blimey.

Well I had an unusual lunch, but it needed using up. Cheesy mashed spuds (shop bought), baby corn, and sugar snap peas. Very tasty actually, with a slathering of pepper and a good dollop of reggae reggae sauce :D

Yep - dried instant noodles. Who knows how long they have been in the cupboard and there's no sell by date on them. They just started to stink as they cooked.
