Lunch should have its own thread

edited because I ended up with a tuna and cheese melt, the last 2 freezer dumplings and a packet of wotsits in a bid to get all temptations out of the house before dust day tomorrow.

Was supposed to go to my dad's for a roast, but the small was ill overnight and sobbing on the sofa at the prospect of going out this afternoon, so he tuppawared it all up - including gravy - and brought it round. Roast chicken, potatoes, parsnips and carrots and savoy cabbage. He's a useless fecker in a lot of way, but this is not one of them :)

Mr K did lunch today: tuna, egg, black eyed beans, black olives, little gem, grated carrot, spring onion and a drizzle of honey mustard dressing. I'm putting him on lunch duty for the rest of the week, he's much better at it than me

Also have some ginger sponge cake for afters.

slice of toasted rye bread, a hard boiled egg mushed with a teeny bit of mayo, 3 cherry tomatos, 2 slices of ham and blob of houmous and some carrot sticks.

nice and spicy

Homemade falafels made with quinoa, oats, tomato, red pepper, seeds and black olives served with hummus, couscous and mixed bean salad.

This will be my lunch for the next two days.

I've found a recipe for parsnip soup I'm fond of, been eating a lot of it lately and its bloody easy, parsnip, stock, cauliflower, onion, cook it all up, blend the shit out of it mixed with some Parmesan. Add spices to your preference when you fry the onion.

I do like a bit of parsnip, tbh. My life partner isn't keen though.

Tend to only have it a Christmas really.

I always make too much stir fry. Or it shrinks and isn't enough.

Same here: it's one of those things where the quantities are hard to get right.

Made carrot and coriander soup for lunch yesterday as I'd a bunch of coriander that needed using up. It was very good then, and seems to be even better hotted up today.

boring chicken sandwich from the co-op. But a nice toasted fruit scone for pudding with milky coffee. Yum. Can't move now.

Mexican bean soup. There's enough for tomorrow's lunch too :)
Home-made? I do a fucking stonking Mexican bean soup - will be making this week actually.

I had a homemade egg mayo butty (nice thick filling, none of your namby-pamby-show-the-egg-the-mayo shopbought shite) and a bag of cheese n unyon crisps.

Bought from the shop! I make really nice smoky black bean and lime soup that's mexicanish. I might make some this week for work lunches. Cheaper and tastier the tescunts, innit.
