Wot Cher! Knocked 'em in the Old Kent Road

A musical hall song written in 1891 by Albert Chevalier. His version was never recorded, but there have been versions over the years by Shirley Temple, Stanley Holloway, Acker Bilk, Julie Andrews, Roy Hudd, Mike Reid and many others. But who cares about them when you can watch Fozzie Bear sing it on The Muppet Show:

I've got super mixed feelings about London. Used to absolutely love it. Lived there for a few years and have family heritage there. Can't stand the place now, as the London I loved has largely vanished.

Anyway, MES always hated it, but I love the way he's intertwined a basic 'get me the fuck out of here' with layers about Romans and Arthur Machen:
