London Anarchist Bookfair 2015: predictions/dramas/confrontations...

Also, please note that you are not allowed to pay for any books. If you want them, you have to steal them.

They're dead smart that Critisticuffs lot. Although I went to one of their workshops a bit ago, and fucking hell they need to work on their presentation. Having someone sit at a desk and drone on at you endlessly is really tedious.

More details to follow...

(I can't make it :(, but it will be good).

:( Totally up to you, you might not feel its appropriate, or you might have already done this - but could you and the working group make sure other groups etc know that he is refusing to engage in an accountability process and is using spurious legal threats to try to shut you up? Circulate a letter before the bookfair or something? What an asshole:mad: Or just make sure you've got good people around you. (PS I don't know you or your situation, but i do think he's a shit).
The Legal shit was to me, before the working group existed.

Got this, lost my copy, asked the head of the firm for another, and it didn't exist on their records.

Got accused of being an undercover cop/worse by Charlotte editor of freedom news when she was working with/promoting him at the 2013 boot fair after she had been 'supportive' of me for six mths (apparently the only time she actually did were on the days she Hated All Men, but there you go).

Ended up referred to the intensive community support mh team that weekend as a last chance before being sectioned for my own protection.

Seeing as freedom are the contact for the book faie, i won't go near them. Anyone else can on my behalf.

The Group have asked him one final time whether he wishes to engage. You can lead a horse to water etc.

I never found our what the defamatory statements i made were - his solicitor mate didn't ask him before writing, and never responded to my request for clarification.

If anyone would like to ask on my behalf, please do.1445604425388.jpg

The working group email for any questions etc is

Noticed a disappointing lack of beef this year. No Swappies, no factional in-fighting, no commentaritwats (I was so disappointed at not being able to genuflect at the feet of OJ and Penny Dreadful), nothing.

And there was me hoping to run a book on the matches as they rumbled about in front of me. All that work drawing up sweepstakes on how many brawls with sidebets on first blood, first knockdown, weapons used and so on. All wasted.

I was most disappointed.

Yep, and it was a little too hot and crowded for my liking.:(
Great to hear from the Athens anarchists and their work with refugees, though.

Trouble near the bookfair, apparently, around King's Cross/St. Pancras.

Paddy wagons, officers arriving on foot, a fire engine escorted through by a paddy wagon. Does seem to be kicking off around the station at the moment.

Getting heavy at King's Cross. Smoke canisters flying around and a group of folk have broken a police line at the station entrance. Smoke canisters going off inside the station now.

Looks like the filth are keen to keep the fair-goers apart from the no borders event just down Kings Blvd.:(

Did I miss a whole space or something...or were there far fewer actual books than at QM?

if that was fewer books, wish i'd made it a few years ago. my wish list is now a lot smaller.

:(
...and that space was such a fucking bunfight.
here, have a bookfair in a space that feels like an overgrown train carridge.

if they had been able to spread it into that area nesrer th enternce and not have the central row of stalls as well, would have felt better imo.

Coppers now around the Underground station mainly. Another paddy wagon arrived while I was taking a look from across the street. Whatever was happening seems either to be being contained or is happening below ground level.

Ambulance heading away down the Euston Road just as a paramedic car arrives. Both with lights and sirens going.
