You've completely boggled my tiny mind now, because my boss is convinced that the so far unseen heavy on the phone is the big boss policeman, because he's Scottish. I have been skeptical, to put it mildly. So if it turns out she's right and it is that curly haired smarmy policeman who's the big baddy, I will never hear the end of it.

I really enjoyed this until the very end. I hated the 'what happened next' stuff coming up at the end. A few things seemed a bit odd, like the young lad being taken back to his feckless mother, I'm sure he would have been taken into care. Apart from that and a couple of other things, I wish it would come back for another series.

Slightly unsatisfactory denouement

I have finally seen the last episode. I thought it was excellent, and am wondering what was unsatisfactory about it.

I liked the fact that the meaning of the title only became clear right at the end. Am surprised they are doing a second series now the main character's brown bread.

Not so sure about that - Lennie James was by far the strongest out of the cast imo - so can't see 2nd series working quite so well.
