Lambeth Country Show 2020 - 2021 (no shows)

Went to a lovely birthday picnic in Brockwell Park yesterday. We were roughly where the vegetable sculptures would have been. We even had a 10l box of Chucklehead. Top skies too.

The winners have been announced!

The winners are announced for the Lambeth Country Show Vegetable Sculpture Competition, 2020

Blimey, every bottle is hand filled and packed by the family. Their farm is tiny too - only one acre! Makes me feel even more chuffed about the fundraiser we sorted for them after their takings were stolen at the Country Show.

I'd rather see the £20k saved for next year as well - apparently last years short-notice online version cost only £2k, which seems reasonable.
The extra 18K this year is to have a more creative online presence  & reach more people.
I think I'd still just prefer to take a few cans & sit in the park in the sunshine, maybe remember to go to Vauxhall City Farm & visit the alpacas.

“8,285 people engaged with the virtual show compared to 130,000 online during the live show in 2019. 72% were male and 62% were aged between 45 and 54 years. This meant that only a small part of the community engaged with the virtual event.”
the younger end of U75 typical demographic well-represented in last years viewing figures, then
