She's mid 30s and a bit fussy but it's a surprise so I can't ask her... any ideas?

Yeh try tk maxx but take a hat of hers to make sure you get the right size

Accessorize is good for hats too. No idea about style though, I think a hat is quite a difficult thing to buy for someone.

What peng and Maharani said, something that looks great on the shelf looks awful on the wrong person. Hats need to be tried and a proper variety need trying. Take her with you.

Foldupability's important, I think - if you go indoors or the weather changes, it's a faff to carry a straw hat about, although I do like the one you posted.
