Kitchen floor tiles - where from?

editor

hiraethified
I need to replace some of the floor tiles in my kitchen.

The tiles are arranged on an alternate white tile/black tile pattern (like a chess board) and are made of a lino type material.

Their size is a bit odd - they're neither 12" nor 30 cm but just a tad less and there's a slight 'marbled' effect in there.

So - does anyone know where I can find some replacement tiles? Or am I better off starting all over?

There is a specialist tile shop in Lea Bridge Rd but they aint cheap. If you are interested let me know and I will find the address.
Sorry, not sure if you mean lino or ceramic tiles?

If it's only a small kitchen, you might be as well doing it all again with cushioned vinyl - more hygienic, and won't lift like tiles.

I was looking at doing my bathroom in those irridescent ones till I had a quote of £8,500 for tiles and £2000 for fitting. :(

Surprisingly, no. From most angles they look quite subdued, but then from others, they take on a fantastic rainbow look. Like a mackerel :D

it could if you raid the u75 server fund ed!! :D ;)

edit: jwh, the irridescent tiles come in lots of different shades, you don't have to have that dark colour i posted ...

As if my kitchen looks anything like that!
yeah, your sinks are square aint they? :D

B&Q should be able to sort you out. if they have the tiles in, should be easy enough to cut them to size (or they may have a handy (wo)man that can do it for ya)

always the risk that the old ones will look distinctly grubby up against the new'uns though!
