Kennington bus crash - 'many injured'

Two people are believed to be trapped inside the bus, and around a have dozen injured, London Fire Brigade says.

A spokesman said: "Firefighters are attending a double decker bus that's crashed into a tree on Kennington Road, Kennington.

"Around a dozen people are believed to have been injured and firefighters are working to release two people who are believed to be trapped.

"Four fire engines are on the scene from Soho, Westminster, and Lambeth fire stations. London Ambulance Service, the air ambulance, and the Metropolitan police are also at the scene."

Bloody hell that's not good and after the major incident called last night all three services will be worn out.

i'd hope they were sufficiently resilient to cope with two relatively minor (compared to e.g. 7/7/05) events on successive days.

Jeez....thats 100 yards from my girlfriends flat which overlooks Kennington rd, the buses do tend to move quite swiftly on that stretch of road.

Hope everyone gets out ok!

This, though there might be a question how one of the services might have been able to cope if the two incidents had happened at around the same time.
