Rick Beato called it. It's bullshit. There's no melodic similarities, and no lyrical similarities between the tracks. The only elements which are similar are so undeniably commonplace in music, it's laughable that anyone can claim ownership over it.

Probably been said elsewhere, but in the video above Neely says this is explicitly why the prosecution pushed for a jury: to exploit their inexpertise and try to con them (essentially) with the expert witness.
