John Bercow ruling on meaningful vote

Obviously, that well known story (from 2 May 2018) in and of itself invalidates everything he decided in Parliament last week then?

It's hardly like anyone who's been posting in this thread is unware of Bercow's shitty behaviour. He's quite rightly been criticised for it a good few times here. Some of us think he should have resigned (or been made to) ages ago.

But you don't really give anything of a shit about Bercow's bullying behaviour anyway, do you? In that spirit, why not state exactly why his decisions in Parliament last week were wrong?

He was chair of the pro apartheid federation of conservative students. He's a prick
As a young activist, Bercow was a member of the right-wing Conservative Monday Club. He stood as a candidate for the club's national executive in 1981 with a manifesto calling for a programme of "assisted repatriation" of immigrants, and became secretary of its immigration and repatriation committee.[18] However, at the age of 20 he left the club, citing the views of many of the club's members as his reason,[19] and has since then called his participation in the club "utter madness" and dismissed his views from that period as "bone headed".[18]

At the moment he is a principled person who is supporting Parliament against BJ & DC. Who was not a cunt in their past? He is certainly making up for it now & deserves support against being challenged as an MP.

As I'm sure I've mentioned before, Bercow was in my politics classes at uni. He has never been anything else than a driven, self-aggrandising little shit who has been determined to make his mark ever since he went to media classes on how to become an MP run by the Tory party when he was 18. And now, in his terms, this is him making his mark. Brave my arse. He's a cunt, completely in it for himself, and there is no nobility or bravery in his actions whatsoever.

I repeat, he's a cunt. That's all anyone should ever think of him.
This among other posts on this thread I wish I could like again now months later.

Usually I'd agree 100% but have you heard him put mps in their place for sexism? He does it well and it was rather a pleasant surprise.
He's a tory who is heavily reliant on Labour and lib dem support to remain in position, so he scratches them behind the ears to keep em sweet.

He's been under investigation for bullying his staff and would have been out last year for that if labour hadn't made the cynical choice to keep him there despite the bullying.

Seriously, fuck him.

Notice he didn’t do this with Cameron over the “calm down dear” remark- he’s been pulled up loads of times for it himself and perhaps has amended his behaviour accordingly because this stuff is fast going out of fashion- or he amends it depending on who he’s talking to(I’ve seen him pulling up Boris but loads of sexist racist cunts pull up Trump for same) I wouldn’t trust him anymore than I would trust Boris and his Most Ethnically Diverse Cabinet.... Ever.

i find it all quite entertaining, seeing how alliances are made and maintained between people of quite different political heritages who share membership of the house of commons - the labour party supporting an erstwhile member of the monday club

It's almost as if large numbers of them have no principles at all and merely want to cling to their positions of power for as long as possible :hmm:
