Sadly it won’t affect RRs, but as we were discussing Albert Bridge just upthread, Combustible and hash tag might be interested to know this sign has just come up

The weight limit is 3t not 3.5t so it bans all the light lorry twats squeezing their truck through the bollards. Happy as Larry about that :)
I took a look at the southern end of the bridge yesterday and see the weight restriction sign is a good few feet north of the width restrictions. You are virtually on the bridge by then and yes, is showing a 3 ton weight limit. Whilst there, I saw two largish transit size vans crossing the bridge.

Has the weight limit increased? If so, when?
I used to know someone in the 90s with access to a Bentley Eight. He always maintained that it wasn't allowed over Albert Bridge and we always did a detour (wiki says it weighs 2320 kg)

ETA - yes - it used to be 2 tonnes according to Wiki

its good stuff all the way -
500 comments and counting :D

theres more attributed to Georgina
Got to be fake though right?
Sadly, I think it's for real. Was it lifted from Country Life or Horse and Hounds?
I see that Georgina despises what Beckham has done to his RR, I wonder what she would make of Katie Prices, who incidentally got a parking ticket on hers just two roads away last week.
This, BTW is not Ms Price's. Nice.

A whole million quid, last of the big spenders there.

And, according to JLR's boss their cars are not really being stolen that much and the insurance industry doesn't understand the concept of risk, basically it's all kabbes' fault...

Earlier this year, JLR’s chief executive Adrian Mardell condemned reports that suggested the Range Rover was Britain’s “most stolen vehicle”.

He admitted that vehicle theft by organised criminals was a serious issue in the UK, but insisted his own business had been unfairly singled out, and that strenuous efforts had been made to improve vehicle security.

He accused the insurance industry of failing to take account of all the available information when setting premiums.

My brother in law is flogging his Evoque (I know, I don't allow us to be seen together in public...) because he just can't get insurance for it - not even from JLR.

Lives on the outskirts of a prosperous, low crime town in Worcestershire...

The insurance for my Octavia - about the same price, bigger, and 4x4 - and 20 miles away, and more rural, was £300...

Joke cars, joke brand.

Our insurance did double, but then we also got a newer car with a book value about 7x the old one.

Talking about insurance.

My, just, 18 year old niece has past her test. She's got a C3. Insurance quote £911 per month. The insurers said it's because she's unemployed.

(She's found someone who'll cover her for "only" £4500 a year. No wonder some teens don't bother with insurance.

Pretty bonkers. I paid over a grand a year for insurance when I was 18 which was 24 years ago, so probably 2k in today's money, but that seems harsh.

I suspect more teens simply don't bother learning to drive, then not getting insured.

Living in the countryside with no buses, no trains, a car becomes essential.

There've been some signs that we've hit Peak SUV in the sales figures. They're still very popular, but having eaten 90% of estate sales and 90% of MPV sales along with 40% of Everything Else sales they've hit their fill.

It was actually the lack of decent estates and MPVs that lead us to get an SUV. There were still large wagons like the V60 but they're all "luxury", and at crazy prices because they're getting rare and are popular with a certain set. Had more than a few "Oh, that price doesn't look so bad" before seeing the 150,000 miles on it. I look at what we got as a shorter, taller estate. (and it weighs quite a lot less than a V60 would) The smaller wagons like the Corolla just aren't wide enough for 3 at the back on a long trip. 10cm makes a huge difference.

There are a plethora of Chinese cars coming over at the moment, Inc. this.
More than a nod to the Cullinan but as ugly as anything. It is a Hongqi apparently.
