Is America burning? (Black Lives Matter protests, civil unrest and riots 2020)

That's crazy! I thought that Trump's base were the anti-Federalist state's rights bunch?
Well, some of them claim to be, but if they had any consistency they would have dumped him a long time ago. A lot just mean "state's rights" in the sense of "the feds can't tell me not to be racist". Trump spends a lot of his time talking about how he's going to tell everyone what to do and run everything, which is the antithesis of state's rights.

As he was not tortured and given a one way flight over the ocean it's no where near that.
Worrying as it is sounds like cops trying to cut corners and being dicks out of laziness or trying to gain control by fear. As they haven't got a clue what to do
The key thing is that these are federal agents, not cops. It's a direct show of force from Trump, not anything requested by local cops or polititicians.

True.
They really really did know
No doubt! The state of it.

Seems like an entirely proportionate response.

This was a particularly horrific night.

Ah, no. The US isn't supposed to have random goons throwing people into unmarked rented vans. In some cases, arrest was warranted, but not by anonymous people in military gear who don't identify themselves or tell you what you've been detained for. Most of the time the Feds can't come into a local jurisdiction unless they've been asked to by local police. In point of fact, the mayor has specifically asked the feds to let the local police handle a local problem. They.ve been ignored.

My fear is that this is a slippery slope that we're rapidly sliding down. The murder of George Floyd shows that some of our law enforcement already think they're entitled to murder people in plain sight and there's nothing we can do about it.

Yes, I was taking the piss. Homeland security have a webpage with a statement about their actions there and a long list of supposed crimes, most of which start with the words violent anarchists and the majority are graffiti related.

Is that white phosphorous? :hmm: Whatever it is, looks nasty.
It will just be some sort of tear gas (nerdery: "tear gas" covers various different substances which generally aren't gases, and the delivery mechanism usually involves burning things to generate poison smoke). But, you know, "just".

You have to remember that I live in a deeply red state where people say things like that without a trace of irony.

You've seen the figures for the number of deaths in police custody. They're doing it already in plain sight. Also, bear in mind that in Argentina in the 70s when the disappearances started, people didn't know that the disappeared were being tortured and murdered in that way (with US assistance, I would add). That only became clear later.
Not quite true. An awful lot of people became very quickly aware of what was going on, but the media, the oligarcicos and those with a dislike of the Left made sure they looked the other way

Trumps administration is turning into south american Junta ....maybe Trump is going to go the whole hog after dismissing the nov4 results ......This is the practice run

Im just waiting for trump to turn up in the Rose garden in his Ivanka designed space force 6 star generalissimo magnifigo uniform with LED strobed medals .

like nobody would ever believe

An American celebrity, Nick Cannon, has spouted the usual anti semitic crap on his podcast, adding a lot more besides.

He apologised, but got a big backlash for apologising from some black people who stated he told the truth, including some leading BLM fellows.

Its unfortunate as some Jewish blm supporters now feel a bit betrayed, it seems.

Its difficult to see how much his comments are supported in the black community, as going by Twitter its a fair few, but Twitter does obvs attract the cunts of the world

He seemed to be spouting a hybrid of Louis Farrakhan NOI shit combined with Black Hebrew Israelite

The working class, a multi-racial class at that, has been trashed by the rich for too long and no amount of peace will stop it.
No amount of peace? Just endless violence and destruction? I think of all the working class people who would be working in those stores. They don't have jobs now. But I guess that doesn't matter. After all this is revolution man.

The violence and destruction of the marginalised was started, and continued, by the ruling classes and their pig forces.

Treat people badly, generation after generation - what's the most likely response, do you think?
