Is America burning? (Black Lives Matter protests, civil unrest and riots 2020)

oh ok. I misunderstood your 'is it?' post then.

No one was sure, ideas were being tnrown around, I added in another idea.

On a thread where activists and protestors are being labeled and vilified I thought it might be useful to add the idea that things aren’t always what they appear.

Tbf, I'd be quite gratified if I found out that people in a different country were spending this much time discussing a banner I'd painted.

You mean this?

If so, then yes, kneeling on a mans throat is fucking destructive. Is that what you want in return? Is that what revenge looks like?
What I don’t understand is why you’re choosing to label one side as “seeking the destruction of society” whilst ignoring the fact that this side is, in fact, merely responding to another side who are actually causing (never mind seeking) the destruction of society.

You’re then saying that those responding to murder are really just mindless seekers of violence with no aim but to smash things up. And to prove this, you post an image that actually demonstrates the exact opposite.

It’s almost like you’ve taken a myopically one-sided and simplistic view of the whole conflict whilst accusing others of being overly simplistic.

So, part of "the swamp" then, that mishmash, hodgepodge of alternatives, bohemians, radical liberals, sub-Maoists, postmodern, radical green, ultra-identity-fixated headless chickens that clings to the arse of social anarchism like an unwanted clinker. Got it

I've been an active anarchist for 40 years and I've no fucking idea what a chaos wheel is

The chaos star, or chaos wheel, is used to encapsulate an idea, or many ideas and notions. Like a rune. There are various versions of it.

It’s used in chaos magic (or rather, by chaos magicians). Also by neopagans, and I’ve seen it left behind after the Odinic Rite have used a site so I assume they use it too. You also find it in games like Warhammer.

There’s a general belief that Michael Moorcock devised it but this isn’t true. It’s been around for much longer than MM. He kinda accessed it from behind his consciousness and pulled it through. Since then it’s been more in public consciousness.

I suspect that some anarchy groups have appropriated it because of the “anarchy = chaos” thing. But then other anarchists have pushed back on that (for eg that other symbol I posted earlier).

I’m not surprised you’ve not encountered it as an anarchist.

I think it’s an add-on for the people in that photo; it’s got so many different applications it’s not really useful or meaningful for flagging about on a public banner like that.

What does revenge with an AK-47 look like? In response to a copper kneeling on someone's throat for several minutes until dead?

Justice.

I think the US death penalty only uses firing squads in limited military circumstances (I may be out of date on this).

Though Minnesota ditched capital punishment wholesale 110 years ago.

Laughable woo shit, I'm guessing.

Ffs.

The story goes that MM thought he'd invented it only to find that it had already been in existence for a very long time.

Oh. Well I wasn't trying to imply that, I just didn't understand what SheilaNaGig meant.

While some people do find this kind of thing interesting, the constant scoffing mocking and jeering from the gallery drowns out the discussion. I can’t be arsed with it.

Here we go now, getting stuck in a stupid cul de sac. All the other information I offered gets lost under the derision.

Well done lads : thumbs:

It's totally incoherent when put anywhere near the 'circled A'.
