Is America burning? (Black Lives Matter protests, civil unrest and riots 2020)

You repeat totalitarian terminology, which leads me to believe you have totalitarian sympathies. I object to anarchists trashing and looting the downtown core of the city in which I live in the name of the BLM movement. These rioters were simply leftist fanatics who enjoyed smashing things up. The destruction and looting of downtown, including the the Apple store, which had been made light of, resulted in the elimination of many working class jobs. That seems to mean nothing to some to claim to care deeply about the working class.

Can you explain one thing that I don't understand? You don't seem to like living in Portland. Why don't you move? There's plenty of other places that would suit you better.

Nobody disputes there are deaths under capitalism. My mentioning it would have served no purpose.
So it's just the 'communist' death toll that matters? Even though it's lower? If mentioning death tolls 'serves no purpose' then why state falsehoods about them? Why even bring up death tolls if it 'serves no purpose'?

Serge Forward is right about you - you're a fucking cunt.

I think the system responsible for the highest mass murder body count is communism.
Right... I think it's roughly 40,000 children die of poverty and malnutrition every 24 hours, this in a world that produces enough to feed everyone three times over. Meamwhile, food is dumped in the sea because, to give it to those 40,000 kids and many thousands more adults would affect profits and fuck up the market. I don't think any other system, today or historically, can compete with the murderousness of liberal free market capitalism.

I didn't bring up death tolls. I was replying to Serge Forward's comment in post # 3929.

You accept no system beyond liberal capitalism, a system responsible for the highest mass murder body count in the history of the world

If I were to choose a city now I wouldn't choose Portland. Mainly due to the constant rioting and damage done to the downtown area as well as other parts of town by anarchists and other rioters. I've see the ugly side of ultra liberal politicians who allow rioters to run wild. I've seen first hand the very ugly side of the extreme left.

BTW, More rioting tonight in a residential area near downtown by the anarchists. The residents asked the city for protection from these criminals. The cops used a new tactic and got them under control quickly.
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland police wasted little time dealing with protesters and vandals who smashed windows in the Pearl District Friday night.

Authorities formed a perimeter around the protesters, detaining them for suspected criminal activity on NW Marshall between 13th and 14th, PPB said. About 100 protesters were inside the perimeter when it was formed around 9:30 p.m.

Credentialed media was released. All others appeared to be detained or arrested. It’s the first time police have used this tactic to deal with the band of protesters.

The “direct action” event began around 8 p.m. Friday in Jamison Square in Northwest Portland. After a while the group began to march in the streets. Police used a loudspeaker to tell them the march was not a permitted march.

The loudspeaker was used for other announcements as well. Once the windows and vandalism began, police surrounded the group. Protesters were heard yelling at police during the detainment.

There are pictures of this 'new' tactic from the 1980s, and quite possibly before

Basically you care more about damaged property than 100 million peoples lives being ended in five years by capitalism.

You are low life fucking scum.

Maybe you should retire to Florida

You are obsessed by property damage. Can you not comprehend that when businesses both small and large are vandalized, it leads to job losses? Ordinary working class people are hurt by this criminal activity.

Nice that you care so much about "ordinary working class people"...as long as they're not anarchists, presumably?

Ordinary working class people are hurt and killed every day by the big fucking metaphorical and sometimes physical boot that's placed on their necks every fucking day Tom, the exact thing they're protesting about.

They tried raising their fists, nothing. They tried kneeling the national anthem, nothing. They tried strongly worded letters and leaflet campaigns, nothing. They voted, nothing. They tried everything and got nothing. What don't you understand about this?

TomUS, could you go into more detail about your witnessing of rioters going wild ? I take it this was first hand ?
I see the results of the rioting.....businesses and government buildings under constant attack. The local media covers it extensively. I've been in front of the justice center (police HQ) and seen the rioters gathering for the assault. Places where I used to go (small businesses and restaurants) now boarded up after being attacked. A once thriving downtown generating huge #s of jobs that is now a boarded up virtual ghost town. I will never forgive the extreme left for trashing what was once a great place.

I don't see the rioting producing anything positive. On the contrary, it produces only negative results. So, your solution is more rioting?

You were doing quite well up to that final sentence. But then, inevitably, you made your usual enormous leap of something presumably passing as logic, to decide that I'm all for rioting on every occasion. And that just makes you a cunt.

A somewhat chilling cunt, it has to be said...

Tbh I'd be very tempted to trash any business you patronised
