Hello all. We have a big push on at work regarding inclusion. It’s boiling my piss a bit. Celebrate our differences and not what we have in common, completely ignore class and have some shite about being supporting but silent allies. I don’t have allies I have comrades!
 
If that's new to you, you're quite lucky to have missed it for that long.

I'd say if it's boiling your piss you need to chill the fuck out, because it's not going to go away as a pointless box-ticking exercise for the higher ups to show they've done something.
Apologies to anyone who has a workplace where it's not a pointless box-checking exercise. I've a friend who works in a safe injection site and they take it seriously, but most places don't.

Christ, your employer is late to the managerial adoption of identity to divide and control its workforce
 
We had diversity policy before, equity before that and equality before that.

Intersectionality is stressed but when I asked how come all the senior leadership are middle class and speak RP I was treated like a turd sandwich at a buffet.
Do the senior leaders show leadership or do they rather simply adopt the title of leaders while making everything difficult for their underlings?

Yes, their obsessive interest in diversity ends when you point out the homogeneous class and cultural uniformity of the management team in my experience.
 
Now, it that on the basis of the local or national situation ???

One of the reasons suggested as to why my little business failed to win a contract was because the staff were almost entirely white males, assumed hetero, although that wasn't even implied in the box ticking exercise to which our tender had been subjected.
When queried as to why we had no BAME employees - it was well over a decade ago, btw - our answer was that the local area had a tiny non-white / non-British population, and most of those [at the time] were employed by the "ethnic" food establishments.

There were several other instances in the same process ...

I work in education. Big on the inclusion bollocks for years now. Their idea of inclusion? We are talking 'including' atypical kids (usually with massive ALN) being included in mainstream schooling - by putting them on the same premises but, god forbid, the same classes ("but they'll disrupt the class!"). Well don't call it fucking inclusion then if you're just going to shunt them away to a completely separate part of the building.

Tis bollocks, like every new buzzword that comes along.

that was the thing 30 + years ago where it just resulted in the denziens of the 'doonit unit' getting bullied for being in there in the few classes they were integrated with the Genpop
