right, so. we get off the subway, first thing i see is a march of two people, a guy in a lego helmet carrying a purple Biden/Harris flag, and one guy behind him. creeps i wish i'd gotten a pic.
otherwise, a large smattering of trumpers, no more than that as it really was really cold. people with trump swag stalls doing no business. some others videoing themselves, "i feel hope for america now" and shit. union station (where i had to get on) was surrounded by a fence with one door-sized entrance. lots of other things fenced off. not like on january 6 2021, no, you're not allowed to mistrust rightwingers, they're god's people, they say so themselves. this time though, gobs of law enforcement from every imaginable agency, including wichita city police and NYS state police.
to my great relief, an uneventful ride back. i was fantisizing that i would have to cave in a trumper's skull before the day was through, but i didn't. maybe now that they've gotten what they wanted they'll shut the fuck up. i know i'm being naive.
