I want to kill the Weepah Weepah bird

Well it would have been his mating song you were hearing and now he's too busy feeding the missus and chicks to sing :D

Someone in my neighbourhood has a duck. Every morning it's a distant 'quackquackquack' and on and on. I kind of like it :) the weepah weepah bird is another matter entirely

I've got ducks, turkeys and chickens but they don't start making a noise until they're let out. The fucking weepah bird has no such decorum

I have a family of blue tits in one of my nesting boxes..... at least I think it's a family - there's a lot of sort of cheeping noises and adult birds flying to & fro all the time ... 'tis nice

Actually, having checked a bird site it seems it could have been either male or female. Maggot has highlighted that my misandry extends to wildlife :(

That really is no 'guarantee' ;)

Yes, the phrase 'clutching at straws' came to mind when i read that :) You'd have been much more convincing if you'd said 'because gemini said so'

It is usually the male that sings though, isn't it, apart from robins. And i did just read where it's linked to testosterone levels.

I didn't realise with great tits but 'The sexes can be told apart by the width of the black stripe down the breast - the males have a broader stripe than the females.' I'd noticed some had broader stripe but I'd thought it was an age thing.

Now you've solved that mystery, can you identify the "key key key" bird that seems to be vocal here most of the day between may and autumn?:hmm:

There seems to be more than one (and possbly juveniles) - the estate has quite a few trees, bushes and high roofs, so I suppose it could be a bird of prey (enough pigeons etc for them). It's not a sharp cry, it's more of a high pitched croaky squawk (definitely not a crow, rook, or magpie).

Jackdaw??
I woulda said buzzard too from the key noise description. You need better descriptions mate :)

It is illegal to deliberately hurt wild birds :p

Really?
