I live in Japan for a lot of the time. I eat baby octopi on sticks glazed with caramel as a quick snack cycling home from work.
Crunchy... but tasty not unlike monster munch. I eat dogs in Korea and Taiwan too, if they are on the menu. Otherwise I am not participating.
Culture war writ large. Dog tastes like dog. Sweaty and not quite as nice as a lamb. Anyone doing business in certain parts of SE Asia will be doing the same.
Of course the Indians despise the fact that we in UK eat cows... to mitigate things I do invest in locust farms, I think insects are fair game. And I would never eat a cat.
I eat enough puss to get my vitals. I already regret typing that but I don't care enough yet.

OK... ? I'm not a ninja. I am a bathroom designer. I travel a lot and I have to eat with weird people and eat weird things.
I am sort of bullied into it but I actually go for it, I eat all other meat so, it's weirder to object to certain animals. I draw the line at bats now though.
It's a bit of a joke, make the Westerner eat some weird shit. Most of the time the meetings are so drunken I don't care.

I'm not sure which government you can blame in the UK for ignorance. The tories were and are and always will be stupid greedy pigs, who fuck dead pigs as part of their Bullingdon ritual shaming to ensure they won't spill their beans on the other pigs.
But in real terms most of the damage to education and mental health services in terms of actual closures and immediate redundancies was done under Blair's "care in the community" bullshit.
The tories are far more sly and keen to put pressure on social services, NHS, then blame them when it goes wrong. Classic Eton mess.
Blair literally closed down essential services with a stroke of a pen. I hate him.
