Cheapest coat I ever bought is a big long black bear of a coat, over 12 years ago and still fantabulousa.
And have just made this reversable one out of a cheap bedspread

I've got one and I love it to bits.
It is proper soft and was expensive when I bought it. It's black with silvery grey strands flecked through it and it's the sort of one you wear over posh frocks for Christmas doooz. It's coming out next Friday for one such event. Hurrah!
