MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head
  • Since the "velvet divorce" with Slovakia the Czech Republic have not beaten Greece, failing to score in four meetings (L2, D2). The most recent encounter was a 1-0 win for the Greeks in a friendly match played in Cyprus in February 2008.
  • Greece's last defeat to Czechoslovakia was a 2-1 friendly loss in 1982.
Greece
  • Greece have lost only once in 22 matches under coach Fernando Santos (W11, D10, L1). Their only defeat came against Romania in a friendly last November.
  • Dimitris Salpingidis scored the only goal when these teams last met, in a friendly in 2008. Greece are unbeaten when Salpingidis has scored - recording six wins and two draws.
  • Giorgos Karagounis's missed penalty against Poland was the third spot-kick in a row they have spurned. Kostas Katsouranis and Giorgos Samaras both failed to convert from 12 yards in Greece's final warm-up game, a 1-0 win against Armenia.
Czech Republic
  • The Czech Republic can become the first country to concede three goals or more in four successive European Championship matches.
  • Milan Baros was top scorer at Euro 2004 with five goals. Only six players have scored six or more goals at European Championships: Michel Platini (9), Alan Shearer (7), plus Ruud van Nistelrooy, Patrick Kluivert, Thierry Henry and Nuno Gomes (all with 6).
  • Vaclav Pilar, the Czechs' goalscorer against Russia, completed all 11 of his passes in the final third and each of his four shots were on target.

Well apart from nodding off for 10 minutes and missing the 3 goals last night:facepalm: I've managed to work it so I don't miss a single game of this torno.

It's a tough one to call this. The Greeks are missing a few due to injury and suspension so that may give the Czechs enough of an edge to sneak it. The Czechs really have to win to have any hopes of progressing so I expect they'll come out all guns. It could be a good game but then....:D

My prediction: As much as this is the least anticipated match of the tournament, this will prove to be the most entertaining match of the tournament!

Should be a good game either way. I think the Czech Republic will sneak it but gonna be a tight thing.

Poor Greece. They can't do anything right at the moment.

I'm going for 2-0 as the final score, same as it is now.
