Glastonbury Festival Film

I really enjoyed it and it deffinatly took me back there for a few hours,
I just wasnt sure that it warrented being a cinema film.
Would have been better made for the BBC or DVD in my opinion.

Best/worst bit-The Bloke and his two sons who clean the portaloo's out, just be glad you can't smell it
I bet it ain't as good as the Port-o-san scene from the Woodstock movie though (ditto the rest of the film)

One of the best music docus I've seen (Julien Temple is good at this sort of thing tho), altho I reckon it was about 15/20 mins too long and it lost the vage narrative thread it had toward the end.

Very good tho - especially the histoy stuff about surrounding the Battle of the Beanfields and the travellver stuff, esp for the young'uns out there who maybe see festivals as somewhere to go and get cained/listen to music/drink beer.

I thought it actually picked up the pace towards the end. And even though it's long I could have watched another hour. But then again all someone has to do is print the word "Glastonbury" in a magazine or whatever and I'll buy it. :)

i just hope they're right

They were, I saw it today - thought it did a good job of capturing the noise and colour, the late night confusion and the early morning otherworldliness.

Like the way it's put together - I felt quite drained afterwards, which kinda reminds me of spending a real weekend there.

Some good laughs, some good memories, didn't flinch from covering the more contentious aspects, such as the ever-expanding fence, the different crowd that the increased expense attracts, the late-80s/early 90s travellers issue.

All good.

Bloody loved it. Made me laugh, made me cry, made me really, really want to be there right now.

Even the dancing emus were there :)

Cheers for this, but who on earth is there (in employment) who's going to make a film by 5:30???

Will have to do some more thorough searching ...

Take a sicky or say you've got a dental appt and go to a lunchtime showing, or leave work early?

Nooooo! You need the proper sound for this one.

Seems to finish everywhere round here on Wednesday, too. :( I'd like to see it again.

*bump* ;)

Tangentially connected (in that this film covers the same event), the 1990s film 'Glastonbury The Movie' has been rereleased in a triple DVD pack.

Search your favourite online shops for Glastonbury The Movie and you will find it. Also saw it in a Virgin shop in Edinburgh. Am watching some of the extras just now :D
