Glastonbury 2024

I’m watching (I think) Bombay Bicycle Club. Not my cup of tea at all but that’s what I love about Glastonbury weekend, you end up watching all kinds of stuff.

Switched over to Heilung briefly earlier, but think I might need to watch the set from the start to get it :D

I can never decide if I like Idles or not, but I’m enjoying this

I might have to watch this dua lipa at some point, to see what pop music is like these days, being the completist type of person I am, have been going back to watch sets i missed part of earlier

I quite like her in a sort of easy listeningy pop kind of way, her dancers, of all genders, are very attractive too.

Ouch...

That isn’t true, albeit by small amounts in some cases. Pints are consistently £6.50 across the site. Frozen slushie cocktails are everywhere and are £10. I’ve not seen one for £13 anywhere, not even a freshly mixed one in the south east corner. None of the official merch stalls are selling the blanket (which is admittedly expensive when you do see it for sale), and I haven’t seen the merchandise stalls selling the mugs either. Why would they sell something that could break into sharp pieces on a site that already strictly bans glass?

What I suspect has happened is that the journo has taken some of the prices from the interstage bar next to the press tent, which does often sell the same things as out on site but for a markup, because the people on hospitality have money. Combined with then lazily surfing the GFL website for some merch costs too.

In short, don’t believe those figures, they’re basically nonsense.

Dua Lipa tells you what Glastonbury is like nowadays. Like watching Eurovision. And yes there are a billion other places to be but still having her as a headliner is a bit grim.
