Glade 2007 20-22 July

dunno i rekkon we should see how much its pissing down i the morning and then decide.

aim to leave about midday? there's no time we have to arrive after is there?

No, it seems tickets aren't refundable. I'm positive they (or was it someoneelse?) had an official ticket exchange thing going in previous years (no more than face value). :(

I am sure it is going to be "a blinder" once again tho and I will miss being a part of it; the vibe is so special, even if it was ruined a bit by the antics of the goons last year and the influx of "tea leaves" the previous year, so enjoy!! all you lovely people! ;)

have you tried scarlet mist? (does it still run?)

eta: yes, but it doesnt seem to cover the glade

oi wiskers - box, you're all full up and I wanted to ask you something.

ah sod it, is it right oxfam are still recruiting stewards?

looking at the site if looks like oxfam are 170 odd stewards short of their target, and I'm knocking back experienced stewards coz my team is full...

bit concerned as part of my role is to pick up the slack if oxfam run seriously short of stewards, would prefer to find extra people now than have to work my bollocks off over the festival IYKWIM, was hoping for an easy one;)

yes they are

ring here tomorrow:

01179166483

thats the stewarding office and they are fast tracking old and new stewards who want to work glade or womad.

Did you manage to get rid of your ticket mate?

(It was a sell out but then they announced 1500 more tickets)

So, is anyone else expecting a massive police presence this year?
Would I be being paranoid if I expected dogs at Paddington and Thatcham and in the queue?

Can't see dogs at Paddington given the size of The Glade but it has a very high local profile so expect cops and Stuart Security in Berks

I'd expect dogs somewhere in the process given the comments made at the licensing hearing, but doubt the met will be arsed about it, so prob just in the queue I'd have thought

Few questions:

Does it get muddy as fuck?
How many people go?
Its not full of fucking trance heedz?

Packed to the gills with tranceheads.
13000ish people this year?
It's never rained before but I'm going to buy some boots tomorrow cos it's bound to be soggy already.
hth :D

Cool, just reading about the sound on their site - Funktion 1,hhhmm :s

(Latitude festival is on channel 4 at the momet)

My wellies are still in the car from Glasto!

Got a tent now too :)

Bigup Dubversion not for getting me a ticket but for being prepared to tolerate me for a whole weekend :D

Just off to do a half day then leaving Edinburgh around 3 to get to my mate's outside London for about 11..........

well that was ace.

the weather was ridiculous, made life tricky but it wasn't as bad as Glastonbury - smaller site, for a start - and having crew passes meant we could get around on the access roads round the back.

Started badly when perplexis arrived after they'd shut the crew gate. His mates and his tent were inside, he couldn't go back to the car and he was tripping :( I begged the gate manager who wouldn't budge on it - fucker :( - but somehow he got in by about 1am.

Pretty much only went between the Overkill tent and the Pussy Parlure - apart from the odd wander down to 'the other end' to laugh at the hippies. Overkill was solid wonderfulness despite the liquid mud in there - saw some great dubstep, a genius drummer looping his own beats and making tunes, just stunning. Caught a bit - not enough - of Venetian Snares, who ruled. Not sure who the yank with the beard and the guitar and the army helmet was but he was top too. Congo Natty pissed about too much, and the Producer was too gabba for me. Getting there so late on Friday means I missed most of Bangface but it definitely wasn't as good as last year, vibe-wise - people were sparse, and it just didn't quite feel like the hardcore neo-rave we know and love, still good though. Wish I'd seen Luke Vibert with the Ragga Twins.

Pussy Parlure was great - did a couple of sets, including one at 4am this morning which i didn't know about till 3.30 this morning, i was fucking battered but i made it through. My battery dying on Saturday afternoon meant i spent most of yesterday /this morning minus Kanda, Firky and crustychick, and i never did meet up with Perplexis. but i had a top night on my own running into various crew and DJs i knew in the Pussy Parlure and thereabouts.

Excellent weekend but glad to leave Sunday afternoon - didn't want to get too mashed when Kanda couldn't (driving) so heading out when we did made sense.

Just had a bath, curry imminent and then a very early night.
Nice one :)

eta: oh, and cheers a million to Kanda for driving us down, getting us home, sorting some tings out and generally being top company. Great stuff :)

It was wicked, regardless of the weather and my ridiculously unfestival ready car ;)

Slightly different tastes to Dub/Firky/Crustylas, maybe getting split up for the majority of Sat worked out well :D

My highlights were all one after the other, Hybrid (Live), Sander Kleinenberger was amazing (never heard him before but stunbled into a brilliant gig) then 2ManyDJ's... was far to fucked so ended up TRYING to find my tent a few hours before most and it took me ages.

Cheers Dub for the ticket, had a great time. Good to see Firky and Crustchick too. Knacekered now and curry also imminent :)
