Just finished this.
I think it started out pretty boring and slow, couple of lame shock 'boys' moments for the fans. . . . but as it got towards the end it became something much more interesting . . Probably should spoiler?
OK sure, we saw a lot of fighting, this is usually pretty dull, but because it was matched with an actual mental struggle as to who the goodies and baddies really are and what is the right thing to do, it became really interesting. Whose side are you on? Which side is right? They hit some excellent points in the writing without any easy 'outs'. Overall the decision just to be good and do what is right in the moment became the obvious path for our protagonists, but it didn't feel easy and they had already previously been shown that doing 'what is right' didn't always ultimately lead to a favourable outcome.
So yes, overall a show that surprisingly didn't just end up being a dull cgi gore fest. . . . though I don't think I would have made it through the first three quarters had I not been watching it while doing a deep clean of my house after some renovations.
On refection I would have been very happy for it to end on homelander killing our 'heros'. However, at the time I was relieved to see them all alive and well, even if they were locked up in some mystery vault
