Oh well.

No two-state solution, then. Finished now.

Which leaves the one-state solution option.

And an anti-apartheid struggle therein.

For about 40 years :(

160 military strikes overnight - 28 dead & more than 150 injured.

Ground troops massing on border. The IDF posting a photo online this morning stating they now have 'proof' that Hamas are firing rockets from civilian areas & using citizens as human shields. As if they needed such proof to bomb children.

What's actually happening there: is this business about Hamas rocket strikes a pack of lies? Are there any rocket attacks launched by Hamas; or is it all made up?

I wonder what it is that motivates the Israelis to do these things: are they just evil people? Are they devils?

I think you already know the answer to that, but just in case you don't yes of course there are rockets though they are completely ineffectual.

No but a significant proportion are racists.

Israeli lawmaker’s call for genocide of Palestinians gets thousands of Facebook likes

Israelis aren't uniquely evil, or devils, but they are just one of the later examples of a succession of peoples and countries which have fallen under the delusion that revenge and collective punishment of civilian populations will make them safer in the long run.

I suppose that if it's something that historically happens to successive groups of people - ie fall into the revenge/punishment thing, then jews in a jewish state were ripe for the error, given the 2000 year waiting period.

Yep
Hamas launch rockets
No one is killed
25 dead from Israeli attacks last night
Mostly women and children
Attcks launched against pretty munch the most densley packed place on Earth, the concentration camp known as Gaza

Meanwhile Israel is doing major business with Egypt, Jordan, Turkey and supplying arms to Syrian rebels to fight Assad. While Hamas has lost large amounts of revenue and is politically isolated

In contrast to former President Mohamed Morsi, a staunch backer of Hamas, Egypt’s new military government dealt a crippling blow to the organization by demolishing hundreds of the smuggling tunnels used to bring goods into Gaza, which has been under Israeli blockade since 2006.

Gaza is one of the most densely populated places on Earth, everywhere is a 'civillian area'.

Funny that the Israelis seem to always know where all these Hamas terrorists live, but never seem to be able to find these rockets before they get launched. A cynical man might think the Israelis actually wanted to leave Hamas with some desperate means of retaliation, so that they can create the illusion of fighting a fair fight rather than just shooting fish in a barrell.

Yeah there's rockets but the response from Israel is the equivalent of me responding to you flicking my ear by smashing you in the face with sledge hammer and then kicking you in the head a few times. Not only that I have a few of my mates standing behind me actually giving me money and permission to do it whereas you have no one and you're chained to a wall.

Zionism's a nasty, right wing ideology and nasty right wing ideologies don't tend to treat people well. Israel has descended into a nation with a complete and utter siege mentality with a 'the whole world's against us' attitude. It's now in the horrible cycle of the more they steal land, imprison civilians, kill civilians, build more illegal settlements on occupied land and so on, the more the world turns against them, the more they get a 'the whole world's against us' attitude so they more they do the above mentioned things to try to bolster their position and survive as a state. The only country who can stop it are America and they're showing no signs of doing that so this is just gonna continue.

I'd say a genuinely evil elite class has had too much power for too long, to the point where they've been able to sculpt the entire national consciousness in their own image. I don't believe an entire nation can simply turn evil, but if enough of them can be convinced to justify evil acts then the effect is basically the same.

Just to re-state, as I seem to have to every time that the state of Israel decides to play whack-a-mole in Gaza, that the much-touted "rockets" are mostly home-made from pressurised gas containers, have small payloads due to using home-made fuel in the propulsion system, and have no guidance systems. They're targeted using basic trigonometry, and are therefore subject to wind-drift and other factors so that even when they're aimed at population centres, they hardly ever reach them, and when they do, most of them can't punch through the reinforced concrete roofs of a lot of housing. These "rockets" are glorified mortar shells.
And while I'm sure that someone will trot out the claims that HAMAS are developing new and more powerful rockets, bear in mind that the same spiel was trotted out during and after "Cast Lead", and the "new and improved rockets" haven't appeared on the scene.

Pretty much every other rebel organization, jihadist, freedom fighter etc etc, is able to buy modern weapons on the black market, or from countries like North Korea.

Why is Hamas unable to purchase a half-decent rocket?

Because Gaza and the West Bank are isolated from the rest of the world by Israel and the military dictatorship in Egypt. They have a few Iranian missiles but essentially are lobbing explosives that are manufactured in what passes for a metal shop in Gaza.

the much touted faj-5 that could reach Tel Aviv (where anybody they give a shit about lives). Where did they get to eh?

Because Gaza is a ghetto. It's surrounded on all sides by extremely expensive surveillance and interdiction operatives and equipment. It's hard enough for people to smuggle in the gas bottles used, and enough food and medicine to make sure that if the IDF decides to shut the gates then people don't starve or die of needless infections etc, let alone smuggling in parts of, or even entire missiles.
