Garden snails: the eating thereof

I bought a fishbowl to keep mine in, but never got a lid for it.

The fishbowl is full of rainwater by the front door and it's got red algae or something growing in it. Look absolutely disgusting.

Have you any snail-eating news? I've still got my fishbowl from last year collecting algae by the front door. One day I'll wash it out and fill it with snails.

One day...

Nothing ever changes.

Fishbowl still there. Still not snailed. Maybe this year.

The snail season in Portugal starts in about a months time . caracois for the small ones and caracolleta for the big ones. Cooked in water, wine, onion, garlic, sprigs of oregano and lemon rind.

To me, snails just seem to taste like whatever they've been eating.
Land snails seem to taste kind of like mud and sea snails are more seafoody.
