There's one at Tignes,

There is also one some dude built himself using an old ski lift cabin,
maps

Tried to link a google maps streetview, look up Rue des Genévriers at Brides les Bains if it doesn't work.
I'll try and get a better pic next time I pass

Enryakuji temple complex in Kyoto has the Sakamoto Cable line up one side:

and the Keihan Cable Line down the other

The one in the Blue mountains is absurdly steep in places. standing is not an option.

I went on that one, and also the 'scenic' cablecar ride. Visibility was about 25m in low cloud. It wasn't supposed to bloody rain.

I forgot about this one until just now which me and the foal went on a couple of times (it's free). Pau is a city in SW France at the foot of the Pyrenees. That avenue at the top has an amazing view - a really flat valley and then the mountains

By the Millennium Bridge. Mind you, it was out of order when I tried to go on it:

Readers might be interested in the oldest Funicular Railway, still running, in the UK and possibly further afield. (Rightly or wrongly I tend not to include cliff lifts, etc. as funicular railways.) The system has a drive wheel at the top of a quarter mile slope, maximum incline of 1:7, therefore a bottom surge wheel, which is weighted, is required to keep the cable taut unlike cliff lifts.
The Shipley Glen Tramway first ran in 1895 and is still running, maintained and opened each weekend by volunteers.
Full details and a short history are included on the web site www.shipleyglentramway.co.uk.
The Tramway is 5 minutes from the World Heritage Village of Saltaire near Bradford.

I like it!

The Bridgnorth one is excellent - shopping, the market, chip shop and castle grounds in the high town, then funicular down to low town and the excellent ice cream shop.

You can even take the steam train on the Severn valley railway from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth...

Great thread! That German one looks terrifying. There was one at Oddicombe Beach Devon I used a lot in the past. Bridgnorth, Shropshire too - don't know if they're still there. Lynmouth/ Lynton N Devon is I believe.

Apparently Scarborough had five at one point. Now there's just three, but one has been out of use for some time.

Please be assured on my recent visit to Scarborough, it was working!

This has had a history. Dating back to 1841, replaced by an escalator and when that broke down it reverted to the Potemkin Funicular, in Odessa.
Have just been chatting to someone at work who recently visited; it sounds an amazing place to visit
