are you suggesting that you might find humour in debasing children and that if we were to look at the comment in a serious light we might read into it more than was there originally only to then reveal something about how our own minds work rather than anything about you the person who made the comment...

Point to anywhere on this thread that anyone has called for Boyle to explicitly be censored. You do not any criteria for what makes a joke, you just need to know what 'censorship' means. Now, show us or shut up.

oh right so Franky Boyle was just being absurd, it was really working on a deeper level?

there are many comedians I'd accept that about Gervais or even Jimmy Carr, but like you said before Boyle isn't that snide, he's just a direct idiot.

I need to know where the unseen rules of appropriate humour are in order to assess whether this joke falls between them or not no?

you are asking for an absolutist statement is this acceptable or not. I'm saying that it's acceptable, it might not be palatable however to start a call out thread decrying a comic for their joke could be seen as well bullying by some. Moreover I've not said people are calling for him to be censored go back and read I've said that trying to apply a default criteria on humour is a form of censorship and in doing so you censor their work...

if you can't get what's being said I'm not here to teach you...

No, he and a host of other posters, are asking you to a) show where anyone has called for censorship of boyle on this thread and b) show where you have previously done so on this thread as you have claimed.

its very clear what is being said here. You cant justify your comments so are trying to obfuscate wildly. You can justify racism and sexism, but not your own comments!

Now, point out where anyone here has called for censorship.
 
frankie boyle is just an arsehole, he's funny except when he crosses the line he hovers over all the time but even then sustained nastiness no matter how funny just gets wearying. Cook, the eton boy, at least brought a sense of absurdity and so on to the table. And I'm astonished that you can publish a book that is 90% material you've already aired on the tele. It's theivery. Also his joke about the cost of thatchers funeral being enough to buy everyone in scotland a shovel to dig a hole deep and hand her over to satan personally did make me weep with laughter when I heard it but you'd hope the man could pull more out of the bag. Instead he seems to be going lower and lower in an attempt to maintain an image of slick-witted arsehole. There are better ways to do comedy. Absurdity, misdirection, double meanings- even the old innuendo! I enjoy how scathing his delivery can be but the content needs to sharpen up and stop making cheap shots at easy targets.

petty irrelevant point of no significance; but it's the only one you've got isn't it other than admitting that you and you're bestie have gotten rather irate about a joke making you look like the po faced fools you are...
