Former players...

Fisher have confirmed Hamlet old boy Steve Watts has been diagnosed with cancer. He was one of the stand outs in a very impressive youth team.

Best wishes to a genuinely nice man in his time at the Hill. I seem to remember he had a spell as a professional poker player after retiring from football.

I suddenly thought of Josh Fawole, who was Hak's first recruit this time last year, and a quick bit of googling reveals he's been playing for Maryland Bobcats in the US 3rd level since last autumn.
If their fans don’t have a song to the theme tune of Top Cat then…. shame on them is all I can say.

Hope Dan is able to have an injury free season somewhere next season, but at least he won't be scoring against us on Saturday! He was dogged by injuries with us too, one of the numerous marginal factors that might otherwise have saved us from relegation last season.

Croydon are strengthening their spine ahead of the play offs. They have been a strange team this season, excellent on their day but too often mediocre. Farnham recently did them 4-0, hit the post and bar and missed a penalty. Plus the visiting keeper pulled off a few good saves, it could have been a huge score.

My money would have been on Jersey to go up via the play offs but Croydon's recently moves in the transfer market make them the team to beat now. It's fair to say some of the Jersey people I spoke to yesterday looked a bit pained when I broke the news of these signings to them.

I went to see AFC Croydon at home to Tooting & Mitcham. Croydon were on a bit of winng streak at the time, and then midtable T&M did them over, they looked awful.

Knaphill look good, and I would put my money on them to go up. Farnham are running away with the league.
