Football betting and odds, discussion and other gambling stuff

Update: Now up by £46.
you should do one of those bets fathers do, my child will win an Olympic gold medal by the time they are 30, or captain England, or win the London Marathon. Good odds and you can then make sure they train enough:mad: I think a few have come in - Mark Williams won the World Snooker and netted his Dad over £100k I think

Do you think they'd accept a bet on something with shorter odds. Like, 'I bet my child will do a pretty good drawing of a horse by 2020'?

You won't get long odds - is it worth the risk? - go for she will sail the Atlantic single handed, climb Everest, walk to the South Pole - and she will take less than a month to do it -

then start training her

Tell you what, YOU bet me she'll win Wimbledon, and then if she does I can pay you out of her winnings.

Sorry it was Liverpool first goal at 1.4 and Southampton to win and keep a clean sheet 6.3.

Cool. But, sorry to be a pain, but I still can't make that add up (though we're getting closer). At £16 that would return £141.12. Your Betfair slip says £123.20. How's that work then?

Total returns, minus initial stake, minus betfair's commission. I *think* that works.

edit: no, it doesn't quite.

No he's right, it don't add up. And I'm on a lower commission rate anyway. Will call betfair at lunch. Maybe I got partially matched at a different price.

It doesn't add up because you're telling porkies about your bet perhaps? Bookmakers don't make the mistakes you are alleging. Prove me wrong.

For the record I got matched at 4 different prices on the second bet. (5.4 - 6.3) As you can imagine, backing that market a week before the event = very low liquidity

Bookies do make mistakes, Google "manifest error" Betfair face backlash as punters miss out on millions after in-play betting error

The bet was posted up before the event, Believe what you like mate, makes no difference to me. Not being dragged in to another bullshit debate.

Gone with Hull, Cardiff and Fulham all to win. @ 30.9 - £10.

Cardiff are 5.0 win after making easy work of Brighton last week. Price seems large.

This thread really has turned into the exact opposite of its original intention!

Yes, yes. Bullshit is the correct word here for sure.

It's ok to say you lost a bet. Not that ok to pretend you won at odds that don't add up.
