I think I'll don some sportswear and nip into Iceland to continue this treasure hunt, as I now quite fancy some crispy pancakes.

A market implies different stalls, selling different items, possibly being outside.
A supermarket implies one shop selling all those different items under one roof.
It is not in reference to it's size as such, just that it has it all in one.
So there for a mini supermarket is a small one. I dunno how many square meters it takes to move form a mini to just supermarket.
If I said 'market' people would think I was going to buy fruit or knock or tracksuits from a stall vendor, not Crispy pancakes from a mini supermarket.
