I was dead new to Urban then and didn't know anyone or any behind the scenes business.

Ah little golden (and occasionally black) parcels of my childhood.

Mum used to spend weekends on some social thing miles away, Dad would always nip down to the shops and buy himself a fat juicy pork chop and come home to the kids and say he'd buy us something special. Dinner time would crop up and we'd have crispy pancakes and very burnt chips with maybe half a dozen peas.

Knew it was a con at the time but I still loved these things.
