nah, she's Roxanne Shante, who got into the answerback wars with the Real Roxanne and UTFO.

Sadly, there's not a great tradition of good female rappers. Both Shante and Queen Latifah were about as good as they got, and it's only now that I've grown to like the sharpness of Shante's voice.

This is actually quite depressing.

Salt-n-Pepa should have, I guess, opened the floodgates. Never really happened - I'm honestly struggling to think of one female rapper's album I'd actually recommend as a purchase - the others are limited to a few good tracks. Missy excepted perhaps...
