Totally bizarre thread - in summary
  • 1 person who has only posted on this site to start this thread and bump every now and again it to say the band is great :hmm:
  • 2 people from separate pubs who have separate stories of this bloke being racist or at the very least guilty of saying stuff that would get seriously called out on normally.
  • 3 mates of the band who also say they are great and seem pretty unwilling to accept the accusations.
Maybe said mates could point them in the direction of the thread so they can deny the accusations for themselves? They certainly aren't coming out washed in glory to me (who'd never heard about them before their 'protest' stunt at the champaign place)
 
In Manchester in November. £6 sounds like worth a look. I'm not that arsed with the album but they look good live.

Zero people on this thread have witnessed anyone in the band being racist for the simple reason that they definitely are not. Why are you making up total bullshit?
 
They're vile racist hypocritical bigoted pricks. Other than that I'm sure they're a great live act.
 
You've never met them or heard them. You've never heard anyone accuse them of being racist. You have no interest or involvement whatsoever, in this small underground rock band on the other side of the planet from you. I am just going to assume you are drunk and belligerent right now.

I assume their point is that it is such an insult to suggest that they might be racist that they have not even bothered to look at the thread.
Besides, the accusations here are second hand anecdotes at best.

If there were allegations that I was racist then I'd want to challenge them and get my side across. But that's just me :)

If some people on an internet thread, on a board that I knew nothing about said I was a racist, and someone from said board asked me on facebook if I was a racist and posted a link. I personally would not click the link (I never click facebook links anyway) and would tell them that I was not a racist.

If it became an issue on newsnight and someone who claimed to actually be there when I was being a racist was saying I was a racist, I might take notice.

I have been on u75 for a while so if I was called a racist here (and I think that might have actually happened at one point - I was a misogynist too just last week), then yes I would defend.
