I have said it twice. He said "only niggers can't read". And other random crap, but that is a direct quote.

Just to be 100% clear for me, none of the above two things happened did it? i am not saying that whatever did happen wasn't bad, but from what I understand from what you said those 2 specific things that ska invita said didn't happen.

You seem to be saying that if he did what is suggested it doesn't amount to the things that ska said - namely: racially insulting people/calling someone a N*****. It amounts to both of those things though.

FWIW, The new landowner intends to keep it as a pub. Poss in the future it may have to go gastro or do smaller gigs, but that's more about the posh flats coming up all around us (ie noise complaints). At least it'll still be there- it was built in late 1870's and, even if it has to change a bit, it's sticking around...

I don't think they are racist. I think one of their band is a fucking idiot that has said racist things. And is a cunt generally. We had a booking from a promoter that intended to put them on with some other bands. The landlord has called them and told them not to book The Fat White Family because of 1 band member's appalling behavior.
ETA while he was just a customer, not playing here
at least we can both agree on that.... that was the most troubling thing to me. if me, who has known them for ages, and you, who have got less than no reason at all to defend them, can agree on this then hopefully all the people who don't know them and weren't there could accept it also.
as for what happened at the grosvenor well if it did happen as you say of course it's totally out of order.

I've never found that being off my tits has made me say racist things.
The closest I can think of was an attempt to satirise media portrayals of drug-use by joking that we should go out and stab little old ladies. Either it didn't sound like satire, or the people I was with were too fucked up to recognise it, because they all seemed to think that I was genuinely suggesting that's how we should spend the rest of our evening.
But it doesn't sound like that's the type of thing you're saying happened.
I'm not aware of any drugs that turn otherwise decent human beings into white supremacists...
that's the thing tho isn't it, none of them are here to defend themselves.. not one of us was there either.... i find it very difficult to believe that he would say those words, it would be certainly be entirely out of character

Really not having a go at you personally, but don't you think it's at least a little curious that several people from several establishments have already stated they've found one or more members of the band unpleasant, and at least on this occasion, prone to racist outbursts?
