I had totally lost interest, but the fact that no review of the festival even mentioned them piqued my interest, and sure enough the live footage is GLORIOUS they have totally dropped any attempt at pop, it is just like a weird ritual, it is back at their best imo.

This looks pretty great!
I saw them last summer and they were on such great form. I’d seen them a couple of times before and they had been either a disaster or a triumph They seen to be smashing it out of the park right nowThey were so good.
All reports of recent live shows have been excellent.

Yep. Which is why I’ve persevered even when they’ve been fucking shit sometimesEven when they play a bad show the underlying thing that makes them so good is still apparent and present.
Absolutely brilliant writing and as funny as fuck.Lias Saoudi has written a great piece for The Quietus about supporting Liam Gallagher at Knebworth - lols all the way through

All live photographs courtesy of Paayarazzi As a child, I used to suffer from a recurrent nightmare, well, not a nightmare exactly, more a compulsive envisaging. (I saw Saoudi doing a solo set at a festival in the summer and he was incredible btw - was always agnostic about FWF but keen to see them next time they tour)
This is Jessica Winter who's in Pregoblin. She wrote and produced it. I think she's great.
Ugh. She's manufactured isn't she.
Ugh. She's manufactured isn't she.
I have no problem with that, I'm listening to all her stuff on YouTube, but she has a team behind her.
Which is cool etc but I was kinda hoping that she's be more of the Pregoblin, FWF ethics of music. 49000 listens per month on Spotify.
I'm still crying over how beautiful the music is though.
Whay a quandary! Hope she makes it. She deserves to.
Maybe she's just what I couldnt be and I love her for that.
Alex and various Fat Whites were at the Old Dispensary last night (drinking, not playing) for the Johnny Carter tribute. She is definitely canny. She knows what she wants, she knows there’s a time limit on her chances and opportunities, so she’s doing the necessaries to push through to where she wants to be.
Alex should take note, I reckon. He needs to focus his attention and be more clear in his ambitions. He’s an excellent and interesting songwriter and he should have started focussing on that several years ago instead of putting all his hopes into Pregoblin. He deeply wanted to to be a pop star though, and spent those years chasing that dream. He’s far to old for that now, so hopefully (and no doubt reluctantly) he’s put that aside now. (I hear a rumour that he’s currently working with a huge international star.)

For the first time since 2000 when I lived in LJ and used to pop into the Albert but was too shy to say Hi I'm feeling like I should jump on a train and meet you two finally and just fan geek about all the brilliant new bands out there.
Never actually met a real life Urbanite.
