Aye, but spot the loophole in that sentence. Some of the lead vocals are a bit quiet and bolstered by multiple backing recordings of the same thing.

Before 2020, all vocals were required to be performed live, with no natural voices of any kind or vocal imitations allowed on backing tracks.

Fair. The winning song was nominated by the then Croatian TV station but yes, represented Yugoslavia.

(This was 1989. They hosted in Zagreb in 1990, and we know what happened soon after)
