Euro 2024

Wow, England are favorites to win, just ahead of France and Germany. Think I'll stick a fiver on Spain as Rodri is The Invincible (unless it goes to penalties).
Is that in the Uk? Home teams always get better odds cos more people bet on them.

There's still plenty to compete for in the England XI. I'd say only Pickford, Rice and Kane are nailed on to start if fit. I presume he'll play three behind Kane, and that's certainly competitive (Foden, Saka, Gordon, Palmer, Bellingham).

Pickford, Pope, Ramsdale

Walker, TAA
Shaw, Trippier

Stones, Guehi
Branthwaite, Maguire

Rice, Mainoo
Bellingham, Maddison
Foden, Palmer

Saka, Bowen
Gordon, Grealish

Kane, Watkins

+ Eze, Toney, Gomez.

There's your 26, anything else is wrong.

Foden and Bellingham sure to start, and probably Walker too

8 of the 11 are nailed on already.

Pickford, Walker, Stones, Rice, Bellingham, Foden, Saka, Kane.

The only question mark over Shaw is fitness, so that's 9 (Tripper otherwise). Stones' partner should be up for discussion (Branthwaite), but it will be Maguire, 10.

The only genuine conundrum is the final place. Could be TAA alongside Rice with Foden on the left, or Mainoo in a similar position. Palmer could play as a second 8/10 with Bellingham. Alternatively, Foden central with Gordon, Grealish, Maddison or Eze from the left. Given the quality of every one of those players, good conundrum to have.

I don't see any way in which we could possibly fail. We invented the game and we have the best team. Getting the tattoo done next week.
Might have a Labour government by then too, which was a factor in the WC win. Starmer's no Wilson though, obviously.

Yes. I imagine that Jude Bellingham will be inspired to play even better knowing that Sir Keir Starmer KC is the new Prime Minister, and that the economy is finally in the capable hands of Dame Rachel Reeves.

There's some England game on tonight apparently. As far as I can see we're playing three wingers? And three full backs?

What a waste of time this is. I think I recognise more of the Bosnian players than the English ones. Surely a show of disrespect fielding what looks like a third choice team?

Joe Cole suggesting England need players who can take defenders out the game with one body swerve, and have to be willing to risk losing the ball.

Thinking of anyone in particular there, Joe? :D

I read the squad list, with just surnames there. I almost shat myself when first on the list was "Henderson", before remembering Dean had a decent second half of the season with Palace.

----------Pickford-------------

Walker Stones Guehi Trippier

--------Rice Mainoo----------

---Saka Bellingham Foden--

------------Kane-------------

I'm not entirely sure how that three behind Kane will work, as both Saka and Foden like playing on the right. They can all score plenty though, if Kane drops deep occasionally.

The England group of forwards has quality but the defence and midfield looks a bit half-assed.
