Essential Trump/Alt-Right Ridicule Thread

I dislike these descriptive mash ups.

I find it juvenile.
It adds nothing the discussion.
It cheapens the point being made.
It interrupts my thinking as I read.
It often makes me pause to think “Who…?”.
It strikes me as stop what you’re doing and pay attention to me! Rick/] I want to know what the argument is, not how wacky the writer is.
It’s in the same realm as the eye-roll headline puns in the red tops.

I wish it would stop. I also know that it won’t stop. I suspect the people doing it will respond with stuff like “not doing any harm, if you don’t like it skim or ignore, I don’t care what you think” etc. I’ve been trying to skim and ignore but that still obliges me to be attentive. to the thing that’s annoying me.

I know this is the ridicule thread but it happens elsewhere too. I’m using krtek a houby ’s post to make the point. I’d be okay with it if it just happened in here and didn’t happen on other more serious threads*. That would be great, in fact.

can we keep the multiple page bun fight on the more serious thread ..

In several posts on X Thursday, Loomer railed against Musk and his influence on Trump. She attacked Musk’s “Department of Government Efficiency” project with Vivek Ramaswamy, calling it a “vanity project” on Wednesday before accusing it as a smokescreen for “the pet projects of tech bro billionaires” on Thursday. She also claimed that there would be a falling out between Musk and Trump soon.

In response, Musk accused Loomer of being a troll and said she should be ignored. Loomer continued her attacks unabated, calling the tech CEO a pawn of China, resorting to homophobic and racist insults, and accusing Musk of having “bought his way into MAGA.”

I think Trump should have Musk tried and found guilty and personally confiscate all his money.

The readers who added context seem to be missing the point (whatever it's worth) though. The "X Y Z" buildings on the left were built fast (3-4 years each) but the Sagrada Familia has been under construction for over 140 years; truly across generations.
I think the point still applies that it's a bit stupid to project the Sagrada Familia as being an example of "Then", which vaguely evokes some idea of lost medieval greatness, when Gaudi was very much a modern architect.

Not as modern as Harrison by a long shot.

It's a daft meme, sure. But the nitpicking is even dafter, and tenuous. It's like saying St Paul's Cathedral is more "modern" than the The Shard because St Paul's has had a kitchen built recently.
