Generally speaking Urban is short(er than it used to be) with content that heads into edgelord territory on stuff like sexism and shaming things people can't help, which has been the result of a lot of conversation over the years.

Longer time posters will as a result tend to be a bit tougher with new folks just to make sure the point is made early, which I get can feel a bit hostile but does help keep the place in better fettle long term.

I have no idea what an edgelord is.

Anyone who knows my posting history, would see straight away that I do not indulge in sexism, racism or any other generally shaming sort of stuff. However, Gaetz deserves everything he gets. He should be behind bars, not being touted as the top law enforcement officer in the country.

Apologies if anyone thinks I am someone who generally finds sexism funny.

That's fair enough but there's a way of communicating that message meaningfully and thoughtfully that doesn't involve the infantile, condescending and borderline bullying arseholery that breadandcircuse has been subjected to on this thread.

Thanks. The original rude poster has gone onto ignore, something I have never done to anyone before. What a way to communicate with people. It does indeed come across as bullying and childish. If others have had a similar response when joining this forum, they may well have had second thoughts and deleted their account.

I think it's easy to underestimate just how annoying videos, particularly long ones, are to people who are used to reading threads about politics as wholes and reading all the links in full. It's like walking into a serious discussion and throwing a phone with TikTok on full squawk into the middle of the room and claiming it as a contribution to the debate. This is a board full of grumpy old people who have all spent long enough posting here to feel some sense of ownership, you're going to get moaned at.

But by general custom and agreement this, along with maybe two or three others, is the dumb TikTok shit thread.
