Essential Trump/Alt-Right Ridicule Thread

I believe the Met Office is closing sites rather than opening more maybe 2hats can confirm this.
Somewhat wandering off thread so I've buried it in here...
Hand waving attempt at trying to get a feel for how the number of UK land surface observation stations have changed over the years. As mentioned above this could include a lot of transient ones, eg for construction projects, or even ones for the early planning stages of projects that ultimately never came to fruition, plus dedicated stations measuring temperature for some very specific application and perhaps not a "true" fully WMO compliant weather station. This is the variation in numbers of temperature recording stations over the years (1853-2020) from just one dataset so might not be entirely representative.

yes but you need to look at the number of people buying thermometers from China, huuuuuge numbers of people so huuuuuge numbers of thermometers
My Bigly Weather Station is made in the US of A.

Designed/assembled. A lot of the IC components therein (eg the silicon diode temperature sensor) likely fab-ed in SE Asia.

American society is too selfish to pay a monthly sum into a healthcare system like the NHS. They'd be concerned they'd never have to use it and someone else would be benefitting from their money. It's a fucking joke system they have. So proud of our NHS even with it's flaws.

The stupidest part of it is if everyone DID pay into a system they'd likely be paying less than they are paying for inadequate insurance now.

Try explaining to an American that a public road = socialism.

Her aide already testified that she informed Melania about the insurrection, and suggested that it would be a good idea to put out a statement encouraging people to refrain from violence. The aide was told a terse "no." Of the two stories, I'm inclined to believe the aide's version of events. With all the ways the Trumps have gaslighted people, this is probably the most obvious. Let's put her on the witness stand under oath and see what she says.
