Its nice that the expectations of the england team have now lowered to an almost realistic level, I quite enjoyed the match but more importantly I dont feel dirty about it like I have in the last decade or so of tournaments.
 
Pretty lucky to get away with that. Not inspiring at all. A few minutes before full time, still at 1-1, I was looking forward to quoting myself from earlier and being right :thumbs:

but then we scored, which was annoying, but I'm still left with the feelings of disappointment and pessimism, and it's all unpleasantly familiar.

But it's only the first game, and we won :cool:
 
At the time I didn't realise how close the goalkeeper was. The only movement he made was the wrong way. Disguised it so well.
Innit. Initially it looks like an easy header at the back post into a relatively empty goal, but it's anything but.

And as someone who is shite at headering, I'm always just impressed get it on target when meeting it straight on, let alone having to twist around like that.
